Precision Cut-Off Wheels for Hardened Steel & Alloys
Precision Cut-Off Wheels for Hardened Steel & Alloys
RECORE precision cut-off wheels are engineered for accurate sectioning of hardened steel, tool steel, die steel, spring steel and high-value alloys. The thin, rigid wheel construction helps maintain a narrow kerf and a straight cutting path while reducing material loss and heat marks on the cut face. With diameters from 76 to 355 mm and thicknesses from 0.12 to 2.5 mm, the range supports compact precision cutters as well as larger stationary abrasive cutting machines. Custom bore sizes and application-specific wheel formulations are available after a cutting test review.
Key Benefits
- High thickness accuracy and wheel rigidity for controlled, straight cutting.
- Narrow kerf helps reduce material loss when cutting valuable metals and finished components.
- Sharp cutting action helps limit heat discoloration, edge burning and excessive cutting force.
- Non-reinforced resin-bonded construction is suitable for precision stationary cutting applications.
- Dry- and wet-cutting options can be developed according to the material, machine and surface requirement.
- Custom diameter, thickness, bore and abrasive specification are available after technical evaluation.
Applications & Materials
Designed for hardened and heat-treated steel, high-speed steel, tool steel, die and mold steel, spring steel, high-carbon wire, alloy steel, collets, precision rods and other components requiring a narrow and consistent cut. Typical production uses include tool manufacturing, mold maintenance, precision metal parts, wire and strip processing, and controlled cutting of ejector pins.
Compatible Machines
Use on fixed precision abrasive cutters and stationary cut-off machines with suitable flanges, guards and coolant systems. This page is not intended for angle-grinder cutting discs or metallographic laboratory wheels.
